The Pattern...

The pattern,
All of us fall into different patterns in our lives,
For some of us it is as minute as our morning sip of coffee, for others its the way they walk to work, or the way they blow dry their hair,
For others it stems back to the childhood and what they saw at home and it still effects them today,
Either way we all fall into different patterns in life,
It is our choice to realize if the patterns that we chose to follow are good for us or are bad for us,
Can we change the pattern and break free or do we chose to keep going with it although it is no good for us,
I look around me and I wonder about all the patterns in my daily routine, are they good for me or not?
If they are no good I work on trying to break free and correcting my mistakes,
I have many people that I am close with whom I see make the same mistake over and over again,
You can talk to them till you are blue in the face, they will ask and inquire numerous amount of times for your advice and yet at the end of the day the same pattern is done again,
I wonder why that is?
Do people not want to help themselves or is it just so much easier to do the wrong thing and go ahead with the pain?
For me I would rather go through the hardship of correcting my wrongdoing rather than banging my head over and over again on a wall or slamming the door on my finger so to speak.
How do you feel?
Do you keep following a pattern without realizing the same mistakes that you are making although others show you what your shortcomings are, or do you chose to listen let it sink in and work on that aspect to break free?

Friendships

Friendships,

Some friends are those you talk to daily on the phone and see quite frequently,

Other ones you don't see quite often but when you do spend time together its as if you've seen each other yesterday,

Spending time w/ a good friend is priceless,

Sharing memories,

catch up on each others lives,

smiling,

laughing,

giving each other advice,

Quality time which is immeasurable,

Its Not The amount of time that you spend together nor the place you chose that sets the tone of your we time its the bond that you have w/ one another that does,

Its great to have good friends that make you feel so loved and welcomed,

Their friendships are so close to your ♡ that you feel like they are your family,

I am grateful for the quality friends that I have,

I don't keep count of how many because that isn't what makes the difference in my life,

Its their depth and good souls that do.

Role Reversal

Role Reversal

When a person grows old,

they deteriorate and need to depend upon others to help them with everything, from being fed, clothed, bathed, taken to the bathroom, etc.

The child now has to take care of the parent,

Role Reversal,

One realizes when put in this position how much his parent did for him in the early stages of his life.

Lets not take for granted what our parents have done for us,

For one day there unfortunately may be a time that there will be a role reversal,

But we will be able to repay our parents for all the good things that they have done for us when we were dependent on them.

The Train Ride

Life,

Its like a train,

Each one of us is the conductor,

We can direct the train to go in any direction we'd like to,

Sometimes we move slowly,

Other times we may move fast,

You may turn to the right, to the middle or to the left,

At times our tracks may collide with other trains along the way and you may wave hi to your conductor friend,

You may pick up "people" at the "stops" along the way,

Some of the people you pick up may have a positive effect on your life and some may have a negative effect,

Some stay on the train for a short amount of time,

While others may stay on longer,

But the amount of time the passengers stay on your train doesn't necessarily depend on how they effect you.

How have you conducted your train today?

Did you turn to the right, to the left, or did you stay mostly in the middle?

How many "passengers" have you picked up and how did they effect your life?

When you finished your days routes and put your keys away did you feel accomplished?

The Circle Of Life

The circle of Life

A baby,

So pure, innocent, and naive,

Born w/o any imperfections,

Baby soft skin,

Eyes that twinkle,

And a smile that's contagious.

A toddler,

Mischievous,

Asks tons of questions of why and how come?

Still pure, innocent, and naive.

An elementary school kid,

Hanging out with her friends,

Busy with homework and extracurricular activities,

Still asking questions,

We hope she's still pure, innocent, and naive.

A high school kid,

A typical teenager,

Rebellious,

Asking a ton of questions and trying to find the answers,

No longer pure innocent and naive.

A college student,

Partying and studying,

Soul searching,

Figuring out life and how it is living on your own,

Trying to become an adult.

A mother,

Responsible,

Stable,

No longer naive but she can now answer the questions of her child one day,

but for now she is holding her new baby who is pure, innocent and naive.

My Holy Bubby Besze ( prounounced beshy)

My Holy Bubby Besze,
You look at her and her face shines with a glow,
She is a true godfearing jew,
At 92 she still wakes up and davens to hashem,
She sits and recites tehillim all day on behalf of those in need, whether they are sick, are looking to get married, or if they are having trouble having a child,
That is my holy grandmother.

She is a selfless woman who is constantly thinking of others before herself,
She puts gods will before her own daily,
She knows that we are only here on earth to improve ourselves to become better people.

I am lucky to have a grandmother like her to emulate,
My son is lucky to have a great grandmother like her alive,
A woman of valor,
Always with a smile, a hug, a kiss, and a loving heart.

The "older" generation as they call it,
They are the ones who know the true value of life,
For it is they that went through the holocaust,
They who saw their loved ones die before their very own eyes,
It is they who after seeing all of that still live the true torah life.
How lucky I should be to have half the belief and fear in God as my holy Bubby Besze has.
May I be fortunate to raise as many grandchildren and great grandchildren who walk in the way of the righteous.

A Siddur- Prayerbook

A Siddur,
Oh the stories it could tell,
It sits on the shelf,
Each page has a different story to tell,
The siddur keeps all these secrets inside its pages,
The tears that were shed throughout the years on various pages,
Some were tears of joy,
Some were tears of pain,
The tears came from those of old and from those of young.

Each paragraph in the siddur says something else,
In some we praise god,
While in others we thank him for all he does for us daily.

Through prayer one can improve himself to become a better person,
All those tears of joy and pain can be a release while moving your lips and sounding out the words to the almighty.
While having a conversation with our father up in heaven we can ask for anything.

So don't underestimate the value of a siddur, a prayerbook,
It has many stories to tell but chooses to keep them to itself.
It is a precious book although it can be found on every jew's shelf.

Emotion VS. Logic

Emotion Vs. Logic

Do I listen to my heart, or do I listen to the voices in my head?
Ever feel like your heart is telling you one thing, and your mind is telling you another?
What do you do?
Wouldnt it be so much easier if both were giving you the same message?
But that doesnt always happen in life,
Which decision do I make?
My heart says yes but my mind says no!
I don't know!

Wish this could be simple,
but it isnt right now,
What if I listen to my heart and it is telling me the wrong thing?
What if I listen to my mind and it is giving me the wrong guidance?

Truth is at the end of the day,
I know my mind is giving me the write answer,
I just dont want to admit it to myself,
I dont want to let go because my heart will hurt so much.

Emotion Vs. Logic,
What do you think?
Who should I listen to?
My heart or my mind?

A Mother's Love

A mother's love
Unconditional,
Would do anything for her child,
Selfless,
Puts her childs needs way before her own,
Responsible,
Nurturing,
Caring,
Tender love and care,
Hugs and kisses that never end,
A shoulder to lean on when in need,
Ears to listen,
Advice is given,
I love my mother, she's my best friend,
I love my son, he's my best friend.
Only when you have your own offspring do you realize the true gift of love and all the sacrifices your mom has done and continues to do for you.
So thank you mom today on mothers day,
I thank you for what you have done for me all my life, and for what you will continue to do for me,
Thank you for the gift of love, the best gift of all!

Love, your daughter,Giti:)
